Optimising CV sorting: testimony from L’Offre RH

How do you manage the processing of CVs? Do you use an excel file to track recruitment? Sorting out CVs is one of the most time-consuming tasks in the recruitment/HR profession. So how do you sort through the applications effectively? How can you save time so that you can concentrate on the candidates? Thomas Schutz, a recruitment officer with L’Offre RH, agreed to tell us the secret of an efficient and qualitative sorting of applications!

Digitalising CV processing for better team recruitment

In order to best support companies, the recruiters of L’Offre RH have decided in 2018 to optimize the management of their CV database as well as theirCV analysis processes.

Three years ago, we didn’t have any resume processing software. We used to operate in the “old fashioned” way, with each recruitment officer managing his/her own files.

The first objective was to centralize applications in order to decompartmentalize the management of CVs and thus promote collaborative recruitment between each recruiter of L’Offre RH. So how do you sort resumes in an efficient and collaborative way? After consultation, the HR professionals of L’Offre RH decided to digitalize their recruitment processes and the management of their CV pool, by opting for a recruitment software.

Several employees of L’Offre RH had already used a CV sorting software in their previous experiences. Knowing the potential of this type of tool, we launched a consultation to equip ourselves with the CV analysis and application management software best suited to our needs.

Automation of CV management through parsing

The selection criteria of L’Offre RH recruiters were simple. The tool chosen was to facilitate the processing of applications as much as possible. To do this, he had to propose as a priority:

  • A fast and powerful resume parsing feature.
  • The possibility to search directly on the CV library.

We receive an enormous number of CVs in a wide variety of fields. Entering just 10 CVs into our CV database can be very time consuming! The idea was therefore to avoid filling in the applications by hand as much as possible. For this purpose, the automatic reading of CVs was essential to save us time.

The second objective was to speed up the recruitment process. Sorting through CVs in a recruitment process is extremely time-consuming, as is the multi-posting of job offers on each job site. The selected recruitment software should therefore also offer:

  • Full multiposting functionality.
  • Very easy to use.

Our favorite feature is certainly the recruitment file. For the follow-up of the recruitment, it is very effective. We know who left a message, which candidate to call, etc. It’s a big plus for everyday life!

Today, L’Offre RH teams have greatly reduced the time it takes to process CVs. But they have also saved time on other time-consuming recruitment tasks such as multi-posting of job offers. For example, posting job ads on each recruitment site used to take 20-30 minutes for each recruiter before Beetween was implemented. Today, this task is done in 5 minutes!

We are very satisfied with Beetween. There are still areas for improvement, such as the management of automated tags from CV parsing, but overall the tool is performing well and the relationship with the provider is positive. The technical support is responsive, and once the tool was properly set up for our needs, contacts were rare. Which means that everything is going well!
